"OMNIA Partners Announces Purchase of U.S. Communities"

Friends:

U.S Communities has been SOLD. I have to immediately work with the new owners, and remove roofing from their list of offerings.  USC fronts for Garland, and now that U.S. Communities is out of the way, perhaps the new owners will listen to reason.

ROOFING does not belong in a Purchasing Cooperative's list of offerings, and it's also a reckless scam that cannot be supported.

I am very happy to bring you this news, and will report back after speaking to OMNIA's leadership team.

While I remain optimistic, will give them the chance to be heroes.  If they fail to negotiate in good faith, I'll  let you know.  The BOD may be impossible to reach, as they normally are, but I'll get there.

Copy and paste for full article:

file:///C:/Users/Robert/Desktop/OMNIA%20Partners%20Announces%20Purchase%20of%20U.S.%20Communities%20_%20Business%20Wire.html

Most of this drivel is "cookie cutter" language of Purchasing Cooperatives who are 100% against fair, open, competition, and bidding.  It is doubtful they can summon the decency to stop stealing from our schools through Garland, Ind.

U.S. Communities have been a recurring nightmare, but maybe OMNIA management can understand the risk involved?

I'll let you know what Mr. Lindsley has to say.  You may also contact him, and express the same concerns.
If we don't act in UNITY, we'll be dealing with the same rabid hyenas, fighting the same morbid scams.
Simply put, we want "Fairness', and not be forced to deal with Purchasing Cooperatives who are currently working to exclude ALL trades, so their 2-3% "commission" is, of course higher.  The Garland "Salesman" gets a 25% 'Commission".  INSTANTLY, your tax dollar is worth 73 cents, and nothing to show for it.
I'll stand up to OMNIA, and Mr. Lindsley, will you?
Thank you for spending your valuable time with me, and hope you get something out of what I have to say.

Search this site for public roofing scams.

Friends:

The purpose of this site is to increase public awareness of "Predatory Sales Models" and "Exclusion" of  fair competition in public works.

Everything I say here is backed by  public record, and subsequent documentation.  If I say something that is factually incorrect, I will retract it.  Constructive criticism is encouraged, and welcomed.

NOTE;  Retired 2003, do not solicit nor accept, compensation or personal advancement of any kind.

Architects, Public Administrators, Contractors, Consultants, Manufacturers, and Distributors, are all affected by "Proprietary Specifications".  A sales trick to eliminate all competition for taxpayer money.

In the upper left search box, please type keywords:  School Roofing Scam, Purchasing Cooperative, Taxpayer abuse, Tremco, Garland, sole source, etc.

Approximately 150 posts all told.

FACT:  Garland, and Tremco do not make half the products they sell, and are not found in any local roofing supply house. It must be trucked in from Ohio.  You are essentially exporting 70% of your local tax dollar to other economies.

YOU, and all  taxpayers should be concerned that we are paying upwards of 50% MORE for roofing and duped into thinking you've received a value.  The opposite is true.

If you are working with a Purchasing Cooperative, your district is taking a beating that is 100% avoidable.  Certainly, I've illustrated the scam that is undeniable.

I know all the manufacturers, and have installed millions of sq. ft. of any subset of roofing.  Steep slope, single ply (EPDM, TPO, PVC), built up, modified, etc.  I've successfully completed over 100 public schools, and know what I'm talking about.

If I don't know the answer, Roof Consultant's Institute (RCI) will.  RCI is the standard for roofing excellence, and an honorable organization with top level consultants.

Many are Architects, Consultants, Engineers, Contractors, Manufacturers, etc. ,ALL are credentialed, and will have someone near you.

I do not belong to any organization.  A lot of my work is very sensitive, and may cause discomfort through association.  They are not allowed to speak freely, while I can tell the truth without fear of retribution.

Please understand that I have no beef with individuals trying to make an honest living.  It's the "Predatory Sales Model I despise.  I do not want to "Exclude" those mentioned, and welcome them to any public bid list.

Instead of "Favoritism", seek only fair competition for our own tax dollars.

Roofers will decide all things roofing, and not elite sectors who are without credential, experience, or the exhaustive safety training it takes.

"My name is Ron, and I'm a roofer.........For some reason, feel like I should be at an AA meeting."

I will help anyone who asks for help.

This is my mission, and will see it through.

NOTE;  Retired 2003, do not solicit nor accept, compensation or personal advancement of any kind.

Reject negativity in all forms, and always remember to keep looking "UP".

It is humbling that anyone cares one bit about what I have to say, and I am thankful.

Lewisburg School District continues to ignore the public. LETTER TO THE EDITOR. Max Bossert

Friends:

As distasteful as it was to report on a lying Florida Senator, the cases just keep on coming.  Why Ron?  Because it's a system rigged to favor one manufacturer, and increase commissions.

Why do they only want one manufacturer?  Because Purchasing Cooperatives are essentially "Commissioned Salesmen", and get 2%-4% of the contract amount.  They do not get paid to seek competitive pricing because that would mean less money for them.  Understood?  It's a SCAM., AND NOTHING MORE.

Type "School Roofing Scam" on YouTube, and you'll see what I mean.

U.S. Communities is one of the worst.  Lying about Garland being competitive is hilarious, once you know the facts.  Garland got their contract with U. S. Communities with 55 pages of BLANK DOCUMENTS.  What on earth did they compare $0.00 to?

Here is a very recent case of schools getting ripped off by the scheme.  "Predatory Sales Model" as I refer to them.   On average, these Purchasing Cooperative "sole source" contracts cost the taxpayer approximately 50% MORE than competitive, open, and fair, bidding scenarios.

Very special thanks to those who had enough, and did something about it.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: We, The People are being robbed

By Max Bossert | Letter to the Editor

The Lewisburg School District continues to ignore the public.
A recent letter from Stacy Gasteiger (Dec. 22) about cronyism at the local level could not be more true.
The superintendent, the school board president, business manager will stop at nothing to be able to deal with the CSIU, KPN and Tremco of Ohio (who just used their other name of Weatherproofing Technologies) to mislead the voting public to get their project approved for the Linntown Elementary School roofing project.
To explain everything, the Lewisburg School District does not purchase anything from local business. The business manager has presented the roofing project four times since early spring. The original cost was $740,000. We requested they reconsider and they did stop the contract. Since then the price has fluctuated from $740,000 to $489,726 for the same project.
This is a project that could be done by any local tax paying contractor for less than $200,000.
I know this because we and other roofers are certified to do this type of work and we have been roofing since 1974 as well as roofing at the Linntown Elementary School some 30 years ago.
A copy of the bidding process required by the state was hand carried to the superintendent, the board president and business manager yet they continue to skirt the fair bidding practice set by the State of Pennsylvania and have awarded the contract to Waterproofing Technologies for $489,726.40. This cost, I believe, is $289,000 more than any other certified local roofer would charge for the same project if they had bothered to get more than one bid.
It certainly makes you wonder who is getting the extra $289,000.
NOTE:  Tremco, and Garland Salesmen get paid 25% commission, where mainstream manufacturers pay salary.  That's a lot of money (the 25% Commission) that doesn't actually go into the job itself.
My personal opinion is that we need to get a new board president, new business manager and new local superintendent.
Remember citizens, it’s our responsibility to say something if you see something. I see people who are stealing money from our school district.
Please check out Tremco and Waterproofing Technologies at www.procurement-reform.org to see that we are not just blowing smoke.
Max Bossert,
West Milton
---------------------------------------
Very well done, and I am proud of those who stand up to the scam.  Those of us who scream for fairness, are typically at the hands of intellectual elitists who have no concept of modern roofing technique, material, or competitive bidding processes.  A complete fool can see how the "Roofing Scam" works.

They aren't spending their money, they're spending YOUR MONEY!  Republican, Democrat, and Independent, doesn't matter. They are supposed to be responsible stewards of our money, but instead, act as gravy sucking pigs at the trough.  Sorry to paint with such a broad brush, but the exceptions are few.

Say NO to Purchasing Cooperatives, and the two vendors they prop up:  Tremco, and Garland.
If you don't, you may find yourself in the news, and not the way you dreamed it.
Reject negativity in all forms, and always remember to keep looking "UP".

Constructive criticism is welcomed, and encouraged.

Purchasing Cooperative "Roofing Scam":

Friends:

I don't know if this "Roofing Scam" is interesting, but it is very real.  The reason purchasing cooperatives ONLY include Roofing, and no other trades!!  Fascinating.  I guess we roofers can have the "leftovers" after the cooperative and government get done with the isolation, and bid rigging.

Below, you will see actual contract documents, and verbiage.  Here, I do not consider emotion, but rather "measurable units".  It is a stark existence, but feel someone has to stand up, and guess I'm "It".

Simply put:  NEVER buy a roof through a purchasing cooperative.  You will be paying 50%-100% MORE, and receive an "average' roof at best.  Garland, and Tremco are the main culprits, and while everyone in roofing knows the scam, they are afraid.  I have no such inhibition, and and can eliminate the "retribution" aspect.  In other words, I get to play the "Bad Guy" 24 hours a day.

There is not an administrator in this country that can justify such overspending.

The DOJ busted Tremco fosr $61,000,000.00, and now facing charges from the SEC.  The SEC is suing Tremco, ANDT their attorney (a big stockholder).  SEC is demanding a jury trial for both.  Two minutes of research will reveal the scam in infinite detail.  Also, look for Janet Campbell "School Roofing Scam".  Brilliant stuff.  Respect.

It is WRONG to steal from schools, and I don't like people who do it.  A personal problem I'm afraid.

For those of you keeping score, dig this:

Cobb County Purchasing Department is listed as “Lead Agency” for roofing on US Communities website and appears to solicit the nationwide roofing contract

US Communities website states “No User Fees – no costs or fees to participate”, but reading the Cobb County/US Communities agreement please note on page 56 of the pdf item 5.1 under Administration Agreement in this contract and share 5% of their fee with Cobb County Purchasing:

“5.1 Administrative Fees. Supplier shall pay to U.S. Communities a monthly administrative fee based upon the total sales price of all purchases shipped and billed pursuant to the Master Agreement, excluding taxes, in the amount of two percent (2%) of aggregate purchases made during each calendar month (individually and collectively, “Administrative Fees”). Supplier’s annual sales shall be measured on a calendar year basis. All Administrative Fees shall be payable in U.S. Dollars and shall be made by wire to U.S. Communities, or its designee or trustee as may be directed in writing by U.S. Communities. Administrative Fees shall be due and payable within thirty (30) days of the end of each calendar month for purchases shipped and billed during such calendar month. There are also provisions in the vendor agreement that appear to be more applicable to an organization that is trying to maximize sales vs. a cooperative that is trying to save its users money, such as:

“(d) Sales Commitment. Supplier shall market the Master Agreement through Supplier’s sales force or dealer network that is properly trained, engaged and committed to offering the Master Agreement as Supplier’s primary offering to Public Agencies. Supplier’s sales force compensation and incentives shall be greater than or equal to the compensation and incentives earned under other contracts to Public Agencies.”

U. S. Communities LIES about ROOFING!!

Friends:

I've been very busy lately with "Proprietary Specifications, and "Preferred Vendors" in public works.  Sadly, I lost a mentor, and dear friend, Mr. Bob Lyons.  Mr. Lyons was the first, and only 2 time President of RCI.  Much respect to Mr. Lyons, and I will miss him terribly.

 Downtown Tampa:

Carnival Cruise Lines out of Port Tampa:

Just trying to give you a sense of where I come from.

Today, I will share (to do your own research) more details about the U.S. Communities, Garland, SCAM.  Fake pricing (actually NO pricing) on U.S. Communities website.  NONE.

I've asked U.S. Communities Mr. David Kidd to furnish the "Competitive" pricing 6 times.  Still no answer, and no pricing.  What does that tell you?

For those of you who care more about public record, than hearsay, I am providing the following for anyone who is shut out by these thieves of school money.  Be sure to check out the line about "Salesman's Compensation".  Cobb County, Georgia is a den of criminals who organize this theft FOR U.S. Communities, and Garland.

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM U.S. COMMUNITIES, OR GARLAND!  YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF EVERY TIME.

Garland is all about ripping off schools, and other public works.  Garland peels 27% off your tax dollar to pay the Cooperative 2%, and the Garland Salesman gets 25%!  Cobb County MAKES SURE to include it in their verbiage.

For anyone who is sick of these scammers, or shut out of huge territories, here you go:

Here are some links on US Communities/Garland scam:

"Public Roofing Procurement, through Purchasing Cooperatives : The scam that steals from our schools."

Friends:

"Fair Competition" is the law, and may not be replaced by "Sole Source", "Line Item". "Job Order Account", "Proprietary Specifications".  All terms used to defraud you, the taxpayers.

They will also try to make the roof replacement an "Emergency" and thereby avoid the bidding process.  Instead, some "Committee" without the slightest knowledge of roofing will make that choice for you.

First, I will show you the Cobb County "Sign In" sheet.  Tell me if it looks like the outcome is predetermined.

Please review pages 4 and 5 before continuing.  Looks like half of Garland's sales force was called to attend.  It's so corrupt, that most manufacturers won't go through a wasted exercise.  I wouldn't.

A sixth grader can figure out what's going on here.  Garland, nor Tremco, offer 'value" by any means or measurable unit.

Garland, nor Tremco will ever "Bid" anything, because their sales model is designed to take advantage of administrators, and public works, ONLY.  If they're so competitive, how come I've never seen them used ONCE on any open, fairly bid, project?

I've asked U.S. Communities (David Kidd) for a current price list, as they no longer use the Roth,. Simon, Garland, and abused Firestone numbers.  I can prove it, just like I can  prove anything else I say.

The fact is they haven't gotten any 'competitive pricing",   They got ONE reply to their RFP, and that ought to tell you something.  Not everyone is equipped to handle such blatant abuse by Purchasing Cooperatives.

NEVER BUY A ROOF THROUGH A PURCHASING COOPERATIVE.

NEVER.  NEVER.  NEVER.

You will get soaked by a manufacturer costing about 40% MORE than honorable manufacturer's like Firestone, GAF, Barrett, Johns Manville, Carlisle Syntec, Sika, and others.

Reward "Honorable" manufacturers by writing P.O.'s to them.  They don't steal your money, they "Bid" on work.  THAT, I respect.

SHUN, AVOID, REJECT, AND CONDEMN PROCUREMENT OF ROOFING THROUGH PURCHASING COOPERATIVES.

ALL THE "WE COMPETE SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO" IS AN ABSOLUTE LIE.  There is no truth in the comment, and anyone with a lick of sense will concur.
